Brighton LGBTQ+ Wellbeing Programmes in Nature

Being a young person who identifies as LGBTQ+ might mean that some things you have experienced in your life have negatively impacted your mental health. Perhaps you may be exploring your gender identity or sexuality and feel isolated.

The benefits of being outside in nature are plentiful – stress alleviation, improved sleep and the reduction in symptoms of depression are just a few. Being in nature also helps social interaction, making it easier to form new friendships. So, why don't you join The Wild Mind Project at their nature plot in Stanmer Park?

The wellbeing programmes meet for 2 hours every Sunday for five weeks. A typical session might include a nature walk, foraging, gardening or conservation work. This is combined with a range of creative activities such as painting, basket or yarn weaving, wood carving, bundle dyeing, needle felting, ink making, lino cutting or cooking on an open fire.

Importantly, you will have the opportunity to develop a supportive peer network that lasts beyond the programme.
