Biking Bishop’s Leap of Faith

The Bishop of Lewes, Richard Jackson can often be seen out and about across Sussex on his Harley Davidson motorbike but soon he will be swapping his bike for a very different mode of transport. Bishop Richard will be experiencing a high-speed rush when he takes a leap of faith during a skydive to raise funds for diocesan partner charities Church Urban Fund (CUF ) and Together in Sussex (TiS) on 13th September this year.

Jumping out of a plane is a scary thought for anybody but it’s an adventure that more and more people are undertaking in order to fundraise for charity.

CUF and TiS have teamed up with everydayhero which helps charities across the UK acquire new supporters by counting everything they give to the causes they love. Undaunted, Bishop Richard said: "I'm inspired by the work of Church Urban Fund and wanted to support them by raising money as part of my participation in Leap of Faith.

“All of the funds raised, after the cost of the jump has been covered, will be split 50:50 between CUF and Together in Sussex. CUF works with impoverished communities throughout the UK. TiS is a joint project with the Diocese of Chichester helping churches to partner with their local communities to make practical difference in people’s lives.

“Please help me help them by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button. The more people that know about Church Urban Fund and Together in Sussex, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!”
