8th Apr 2020: CANCELLED Hear Here Training Day (Horsham/Crawley)
1 in 6 people have a hearing loss in the Diocese of Chichester. That means our church buildings need to be able to welcome and accommodate those people.
Coronavirus:
It is with a heavy heart that we have decided to postpone the Hear Here training day that was due to take place on the 8th April.
However, we are sure this comes as no surprise considering the resent government advice. It is also a priority to keep attendees safe.
Please contact Amber if we can help in any way during this time or if you need any advice for hearing aid users in your communities.
As soon as a new date has been booked for this, attendees will be notified.
The morning will include:
A presentation on current services provided by NHS audiology, general knowledge about hearing loss and types of hearing aides.
we will then break for lunch (provided)
The afternoon will include learning:
a. checking the hearing aid is working
b. replacing and providing new batteries
c. re-tubing hearing aids
d. ear mould cleaning
e. hearing aid controls
f. information and signposting to other services and useful equipment
g. best practice for hygiene.
We will also talk you through how to order supplies and steps moving forward.
At the end of the day there will be an informal assessment to ensure Hearing Champions are confident what they have learnt.
For further questions please do not hesitate to contact Amber Jackson, Hear Here project co-ordinator on amber.jackson@togetherinsussex.org.uk
Please note: This training day is for those in the Horsham/Crawley area. Future training days are currently being organised for the wider Diocese.
